Ideal Life Narrative

CoCre November 3, 2021

In this exercise, you will tap into your future visions and imagination to dream out the ultimate life for yourself. Free write or record this in present tense: “I am… I have… I do…”.

Dream out your life story in its fullest glory, the more details the better. How do you feel? What surrounds you? And who? What are you doing with yourself? How do you spend your time and energy? How are you living?

Put a nice amount of effort into it, but knowing this is fluid and will change. You will refer back to this often and will be updating it as things within you start to shift. Don’t shy away from grand details or things that feel unachievable or unrealistic. Now is the time to think big and bold! This is your ideal life. Have fun with this. Be dreamy. Get into the storytelling of it, if you can. For example, what do your days look like? For instance…

I wake up feeling wonderful in my body, mind and spirit, to kisses and cuddles from my beloved – my loyal and trusted partner. I make myself a cup of tea and sit outside for some quiet time with the birds on a sun-soaked porch with a beautiful view. I can feel the tingling of crisp, fresh air as I awaken my body with breathwork, and can’t help but feel completely elated that I am starting off my day exactly how I want to…

Remember to think into how you feel about yourself, your life and what and who surround you. Choose a time, a positive vision in your future and share all about it. Remember: details and feelings will make it more real. We will come back to this ideal life exercise towards the end of the course, to see what has shifted or grown stronger.

Exercise: Write or record a few versions of this story.

1. What does your life like in the next 3-12 months? Is it solid or transitional? Are you working towards specific goals? What seeds are you planting?

2. What is your life like in the next 2-3 years? What is harvesting?

3. What is your life like in 5 years? 10 years? What has blossomed and spread?

4. Looking back at your life from your 100 year old self, what are some of your proudest accomplishments, greatest adventures and best work/projects?
